Known as the fairest cape in the world, and steeped in history, the Western Cape has much to offer in terms of natural beauty. There is Table Mountain, and the beaches. In the west one finds vineyards and orchards in highly cultivated valleys and to the east and the south the subtropical forests of Knysna and the Whale Coast near Cape Agulhas. Finally, across the mountains, to the north, are the vast, arid plains of the Karoo, where natural wonders such as the Cango Caves and the Cederberg Mountains can be discovered.
